Position Overview
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides quality educational services to students requiring specialized instruction. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized educational programs, collaborating with general education staff, and supporting students both academically and behaviorally.
Assignment Details
- Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
- Start Date: September 7, 2026
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM
- Hours: 37.5 hours/week
- Contract Length: 36 weeks
- Openings: 3
- Grade Level: High School (Ages 14-18)
- Classroom Environment: Inclusion
- Caseload Ratio: Approximately 1:24

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching license/certification as required by state and district regulations
- Special Education certification or Intervention Specialist licensure preferred
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
- Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred
- Recent experience in a similar role
- Current CPR certification if applicable
- Completion of TB screening requirements if applicable
- Current health certificate as required by state or district regulations
- Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
