About the Role
As a Paraeducator with the El Segundo School District, you will support students in the classroom, assist teachers with instruction, and help maintain a positive, structured learning environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, child development, or gaining experience in school-based or behavioral support settings.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support: Assist students with academic tasks, engagement, and individualized learning needs.
Classroom Assistance: Support teachers with instruction, materials, and daily classroom operations.
Behavioral Guidance: Reinforce positive behaviors and help maintain a safe, supportive environment.
IEP Collaboration: Support students with accommodations outlined in their Individualized Education Plans.
Supervision: Monitor students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other school activities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (some districts may require additional units or certifications).
Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred.
Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow teacher direction and support diverse learning needs.
