Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

End Date: Through the end of the current academic year
Pay Rate: $45 per hour

Position Overview
Amergis is seeking one (1) Special Education Teacher to provide resource-level instructional support in Reading and History for upper-grade learners in a small-group setting. Under the direction of a Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher will deliver high-quality specialized instruction and support individualized programming needs.
The ideal candidate is familiar with middle and high school core content and is comfortable with instruction, case management, documentation, and collaboration with other Special Education team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver small-group resource instruction in Reading and History
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
- Maintain complete and accurate service documentation
- Collaborate with general education staff and Special Education colleagues
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and IEP conferences
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional standards
- Maintain appropriate credentials and certifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate as required by applicable regulations
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred
- Preferred certifications:
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Education Teaching
- Preferred endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray as applicable
- Current CPR certification if required
- Current Health Certificate if required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Required Certifications
- Special Education Certification covering assigned grade levels
- Content Area or Generalist Certification for grades 6+
