Special Education Teacher – $40/hr – Benbrook, TX – Full-Time
Position Overview:
Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instructional services for students in an Alternative Learning Environment (ALE). The educator will support a small caseload across multiple grade levels and collaborate with school teams to ensure instructional and behavioral success.
Assignment Details:
Location: Benbrook, TX
Start Date: February 9, 2026
Contract Length: 15 weeks
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
Modality: In-person
Openings: 1
Interview Type: Virtual (possible in-person second round)
Role Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in an ALE classroom
- Provide instruction to 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, and 8th grade learners
- Manage a caseload of 5 students, plus 3 additional students rotating in and out
- Collaborate with para support staff
- Implement instructional strategies aligned with student needs
- Maintain documentation and support student progress
Credentials & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education certification required
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Teaching experience preferred
- CPR, TB screening, and health clearance if applicable
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
