High School Special Education Teacher – Cedar Hill, TX

Pay: $42 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week
Schedule: 7:15 AM – 3:05 PM
Duration: ASAP – May 22, 2026
Setting: Inclusion Classroom
Caseload: Approx. 25 students
Support: 1 Paraprofessional

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instructional support to students in grades K–12 within an inclusion classroom model. The ideal educator demonstrates strong collaboration skills, adaptability, and a commitment to serving diverse learning needs in a positive and supportive environment.

This caseload has no significant behavioral concerns and includes assistance from an experienced paraprofessional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized academic instruction to students in an inclusion setting
  • Deliver individualized and small-group support as needed
  • Develop and implement accommodations and instructional strategies
  • Participate in IEP-related tasks, progress monitoring, and required documentation
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and professional standards
  • Support a caseload of approximately 25 students

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
  • Valid Texas state teaching certification
  • One year of teaching experience (preferred)
  • CPR certification, TB screening, and health certificate (as required)
  • Must meet all federal and state requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Certifications

  • Special Education (K–12)
  • History (7–12)
  • Elementary or Secondary Teaching Certification
  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
