Position Overview
Amergis is seeking a dedicated Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instructional support for students with mild/moderate disabilities. This position follows a push-in/pull-out model rather than being assigned to a designated classroom. The teacher will work across multiple settings to ensure individualized instruction and services are delivered effectively.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with mild/moderate disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement push-in/pull-out services.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 17–22 students.
- Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring.
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and administrators to support student success.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Fully credentialed Mild/Moderate SPED Teacher.
- Considered: Preliminary credential holders with strong qualifications.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and environments.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.
Interview Process
Candidates should be prepared for a thorough interview process, which includes:
- Interview with leadership team.
- Four-hour shadowing interview to observe and engage in the environment.
- Possible final panel interview (if needed).
